Watpangiw School’s Profile
Watpangiw school is one of primary school in Thailand, located in Ban Ngiu, Sam khok district, Pathum Thani 12160. Now Watpangiw is well-known that organized by Pathum Thani Provincial Administration. Watpangiw school consists of kindergarten or called anuban and elementary or called prathomsuksa. In Watpangiw school also consist of English Program and Standard Program for elementary. Each grade consists of one class English Program and the rest are standard program.

 Providing educational opportunities, maximize the potential development.

Mission
1. Promote students into school age to have the opportunity to receive education and be fully developed according to their aptitudes and interests.
2. Encourage students to have discipline, morality and ethics. Not related to drugs, being Thai under the democratic regime with the King as Head of State, maintaining good traditions and living according to the principles of Prach.
3. Develop teaching and learning systems, both internal and external learning resources, including development of technology and information systems, education, environmental development to be clean, shady, beautiful, as well as a learning atmosphere.
4. develop teacher to be a professional teacher using innovation and technology in teaching and learning, has a good conscience and ethics, quality and professional advancement.
5. Promote students in sports, language, occupation with characteristics and competencies according to international education standards.
6. Develop a management system that focuses on schools as a base based on international principles, aiming to make schools a modern learning organization with safety and School of quality standards.
7. Develop schools to be a center of community service and cooperate with communities in school and local development as Cooling systems and ongoing.

Academic Support System
Watpangiw has three main buildings. First building is building for kindergarten and English program (classes and teacher’s office). Second is building with four floors for standard program (classes and teacher’s office) also consist of cafeteria. Third building is a building for academic administration building. Watpangiw also has dome for outdoor activity. Every morning Watpangiw has flag ceremony in the dome, sometimes it uses for physical activity too. We as a students teacher also got free lunch in the cafeteria.

Teaching System
Watpangiw learning process every Monday until Friday, started at 8.15 a.m and finished at 3.15 p.m. The learning activity takes 60 minutes for each course. In Watpangiw teacher always use lecturing and The Direct Method.

Materials and Learning sources
In standard program handbook and workbook which they use is PW. Inter Primary Book, while English program uses books by Oxford University Press. In standard program each classroom is provided with four air-conditioner and four fan, also a projector and speaker. While in English program classroom also provided by four air-conditioner and four fan but without projector and speaker.

Measurement and Evaluation System
Every teacher has different way to measure the students’ understanding. It can be monthly assessment or per unit assessment, depends on the teachers. Final test is also being held in the end of the semester.

Curriculum


The Basic Education Core Curriculum 2008 thus formulated will provide local communities and schools with a framework and orientation for preparing school curriculum. Teaching-learning activities organized for all Thai children and youths at basic education level are aimed at enhancing learners’ quality regarding essential knowledge and skills required for their lives in an ever-changing society. They will thus be empowered to seek further knowledge for continuous lifelong self-development.
            In Thailand English still as foreign language, Watpangiw school takes English indicators from Basic Education Core Curriculum 2008  . Below are the indicators for English as Foreign language:

Standard F1.1:            Understanding and capacity for interpreting what has been heard and read from various types of media, and ability to express opinions with proper reasoning

Strand 2: Language and Culture
Standard F 2.1:            Appreciating relationship between language and culture of native speakers and capacity for use of language appropriate to occasions and places
Standard F2.2:             Appreciating similarities and differences between language and culture of native speakers and Thai speakers, and capacity for correct and appropriate use of language
