Pedagogical Content of Watpangiw School

Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach is used in Watpangiw School. Some characteristics of CLT are: real-world simulation, pair work activity, group work activity, emphasize on; dialogues, drills, rehearsed exercise and fluency. Teacher’s role as facilitator and guide, student-centered learning.

Based on the observation the teaching method that the teachers used were The Direct Method and Lecturing Method, some learning materials were used and the sources were different between Standard and English program. During the lesson activity the assessment was based on the materials and spontaneous, teachers also gave a weekly and monthly test.

Teaching Method

The Direct Method	The Direct Method also known as natural and anti-grammatical method. Direct method is the method that does not use native language to deliver the meaning. This method emphasizes on drilling, giving the basic vocabularies, and emphasizes on pronunciation.
Lecturing Method	Lecturing method is an oral presentation by the teacher. The teacher will deliver the material by his explanation.

Learning Materials and Innovation

In the first activities teachers usually gave an energizer, a video from YouTube or maybe some games from the teacher. In the learning activities teacher used a pictures to make the students had better understanding. White board and flash card were the everyday materials.

Sources of Learning and Technology

Basic source that every school has is handbook. Watpangiw also has handbook and workbook. In standard program handbook and workbook which they use is PW. Inter Primary Book, while English program uses books by Oxford University Press. Sometimes teachers play a video using projector and speaker.
